The Alice Springs Gliding Club operates out of the Bond Springs Airstrip, 20kms North of Alice Springs. located at 23° 31' S, 133° 50' E at an altitude of 2400'.
The Club operates every Saturday and each flight is launched by winch tow. We fly in Class G airspace below 4500' and regularly given clearance to fly to an altitude of 8000', .... some days this still isn't enough!
We offer training introductory flights with an experienced instructor for anyone who is interested in taking up the sport or even those just looking for something exciting to do on a weekend. Anyone is welcome to drop in.
Prices
-Training Introductory Flight (TIF) ($80), Get behind the controls and experience a flight up to 20min long with an instructor, beginning with a winch launch to 1500' above the ground, gaining altitude in a thermal, flying silently at steep attitudes, before gliding back to the aerodrome.
Member prices:
-Launch: $10 + 65c per minute airtime.
